Williamsburg Borough residents will now have a time frame to put out their trash, as approve by the borough council during its April 5 regular meeting.
The ordinance states that residents can only put trash out beginning at 11 a.m. the day before trash pick-up. Chief of Police Rowdy Kagarise said of the ordinance, “We just want to have something out there to stop residents from putting trash out days ahead of time.”
Councilmember Bruce Hamilton made the motion to approve the ordinance to be advertised to make it official. Councilmember Paula Hamilton seconded, and the motion passed.
During the meeting was the opening of bids for the steel structure coming into town. The minimum bid requirement was $10,000. Cottle Asphalt of Everett placed the only bid at $12,000. Councilmember Hamilton made the motion to accept bid with Councilmember Hamilton seconding, and the motion passed.
