On Saturday, April 3, Morrisons Cove Memorial Park will play host to two prestigious tournaments.
The Altoona Youth Bowling Organization will host its “Bowler of the Year” tournament at the Huntsman Lanes on Saturday, April 3.
Three flights of bowlers will compete for the title of bowler of the year in their respective divisions.
The Altoona District is made up of members from the following houses: Holiday Bowl, Bavarian Hall, Bedford Elks and Huntsman Lanes.
Bantums (ages 8 and under) and Prep (ages 11 and under) will take to the lanes at 10 a.m. to begin their competitions.
Juniors (ages 15 and under) will take place at 1 p.m. and the Seniors (ages 18 and under) will bowl starting at 4 p.m.

Basketball
Morrisons Cove Memorial Park will also again host the annual 4th grade boys basketball tournament on Friday, April 2, and Saturday, April 3.
Eight teams from the regional area will battle it out in a double-elimination tournament format.
Friday’s format is as follows:
• Central Cambria vs. Bellwood-Antis – 5 p.m.
• Spring Cove vs. Huntingdon – 6 p.m.
• Portage vs. Bedford - 7 p.m.
• Hollidaysburg vs. Tyrone – 8 p.m.
The loser’s bracket will begin second-round play at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 3, while the winner’s bracket games will begin at noon.
