Earl J. “Jack” Showalter, 94, of Martinsburg, passed away, Thursday afternoon, March 25, 2021, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

He was born March 15, 1927, in Duncansville, son of the late Adam and Nellie J. (Ramey) Showalter.

He is survived by a special friend of 20 years, Lorraine Earon of Martinsburg; two daughters: Karen L. Bagnell (Charles) of Millville, Del., Lynn A. Brehler (Ken) of Traverse City, Mich .; a son Paul A. Showalter (Suzanne) of Troy, Mich .; five grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Jack was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII attaining the rank of Sergeant.

He was past commander of Murray-Appleman American Legion Post No.147; a member of the D. Merl Tipton VFW Post 43, and the Martinsburg Booster Association.

A funeral with full military honors was held Monday, March 29, 2021, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg. Reverend Jerry McCuller Jr. officiated.

Private interment was held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jack may be given to your favorite local charity.
