Area Students Named to Dean’s List at IUP

The following students from Blair County have been named to the fall 2020 Dean’s List at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Students achieve dean’s list status when they are full-time (12 or more credits) with a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.

Ryan Negola on Dean’s List at James Madison U.

Duncansville resident Ryan Negola was named to the Dean’s List at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va., for the fall 2020 semester.

Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Negola is a marketing major.

Jessika Brantner Named to Dean’s List at Edinboro

Jessika M Brantner of Everett was named to the Dean’s List at Edinboro University for the fall 2020 semester.

In order to attain this highly regarded academic honor, students must maintain a quality point average of 3.4 or higher, complete a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit and receive no grade lower than a C in any course.

Brantner, whose major is Fine Arts-Applied Media Arts, was among nearly 1,200 students named to the fall 2020 Dean’s List.

Cory James on Fall Dean’s List At U. of Nebraska

Cory Michael James of Duncansville was named to the Dean’s List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year.

James, a graduate student working toward a Master of Business Administration, was named to the Dean’s List for the College of Business.

The requirement to make the College of Business’s Dean’s List is 3.6.

Nearly 6,800 students at Nebraska were named to the Deans’ List for the fall semester.

Area Students Graduate from Northampton CC

On Jan. 30, 2021, more than 715 graduates earned associate degrees, specialized diplomas, and certificates from Northampton Community College, Bethlehem, at the Winter 2021 Commencement Ceremony.

The graduates, ranging in age from 19 to 78, celebrated virtually as their names were announced.

Among them were Tara Butler of East Freedom with a specialized diploma in early childhood education and Tracy Fouse of Martinsburg with a specialized diploma in early childhood education.

Briar Nystrom Earns Degree at Edinboro Univ.

Edinboro University celebrated the academic success of nearly 600 students during virtual undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies in December.

Associate and bachelor’s degrees were conferred upon 264 undergraduates and master’s degrees and post-graduate certificates were awarded to 315 graduate students.

Briar Nystrom of Duncansville earned an Associate of Applied Science in Applied Technology.

Ariel Reed on Dean’s List at Wilkes University

Ariel Reed of Woodbury was named to the Dean’s List at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, for the fall semester 2020.

To be named to the Dean’s List, students must obtain a minimum 3.5 grade point average and carry at least 12 credits.

Area Students Earn Degrees at Indiana U. of Pa.

The following students from Blair County have completed requirements for graduation from Indiana University of Pennsylvania as of December 2020 and January 2021.

Micah Nicodemus Named to Dean’s List at Grove City

Micah Nicodemus from Martinsburg, a freshman Computer Science major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean’s List with Distinction for the fall 2020 semester.

Micah is a 2020 graduate of Blair County Christian School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nicodemus (Anneliese) from Martinsburg.

Students eligible for the Dean’s List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean’s List with Distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the Dean’s List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.
