A spring model train show is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday March 14, at the Blair County Convention Center, One Convention Center Drive, Altoona.
The event is sponsored by the Alto Model Train Museum Association and offers electric trains in O , O-27, S, HO, and N scale, as well as a wide variety of new and used accessories.
The venue offers the opportunity to showcase the newest products from manufacturers such as Lionel, Bachmann, American Flyer, and American Models and others as well as vintage stock offered to complete older collections. In addition, rail memorabilia and railroad books will be available. The event benefits the Alto Model Train Museum, a registered educational and non profit organization.
The Alto Model Train Museum is located at 1117 Ninth Ave., Altoona. This event aids the organization in providing education and wholesome family fun. The club exists in order to sustain the model train hobby for all age groups, and to preserve some of Altoona’s significant railroad heritage.
An admission fee will be charged, which includes a chance on a Lionel train set. Children under 12 will be admitted free. Parking is free.
