DAVID E. BURCHFIELD SR.

David E. Burchfield Sr., 78, of Duncansville, passed away peacefully at home Thursday morning, Feb. 25, 2021, surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 7, 1942, at home in Altoona, the son of the late Theodore D. and Audrey G. (Wissinger) Burchfield. He married Linda L. Park on April 10, 1965.

He is survived by his wife; four children: David E. Burchfield Jr. and fiancee Nicole, Tina M. Moore and husband Lewis, Richard E. Burchfield and wife Robin and Jodi E. Reams and husband John, all of Duncansville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and five siblings: Robert Burchfield, Ronald Burchfield, Judy Athey, Marilyn Adams and Thomas Burchfield.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Theodore and Joseph.

David was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Hollidaysburg. He owned and operated The Burchfield Organization Inc. since 1982 and prior to that was employed by International Harvester.

He served in the National Guard and the United States Army Reserves. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dave was past president of Blair County Crime Solvers, Charter Board Member of the Blair County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Foundation, member of the Foot of Ten Lions Club, Blair Township Supervisor, member of the Blair County Chamber of Commerce and recipient of the Excellence in Small Business Award, board member of AAA, a member of the Mountain Lodge No. 281 F & A Masons and Jaffa Shrine.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral liturgy Saturday, March 6, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, with Deacon Charles Ahearn officiating.

Inurnment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave's memory may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
