Hollidaysburg Man Accused of Vandalizing State Rep.'s Office

Charges against a Hollidaysburg man accused of throwing an object through the window of the office of State Rep. Jim Gregory have been waived to Blair County Court.

Joseph A Fox, 30, remains free on $10,000 unsecured bail after appearing before Hollidaysburg District Magistrate Paula Aigner on Feb. 24.

Fox was arrested on Jan. 22 after Hollidaysburg Borough police were called to the office of State Rep. Jim Gregory to investigate an act of vandalism.

According to the police, Fox threw a wooden cross at the bay window of Gregory’s Allegheny Street office, causing the window to shatter. Police said two staff members were within feet of the shattering window. Police said glass landed on the desk of a staff member.

Rep. Gregory told police that he recognized Fox as the person who threw the cross because he had been having “issues” with Fox for the past several months.

Police said Gregory told them that Fox would leave “odd items” near the front door of the building and sometimes send “strange letters.”

Police said Gregory told them that there was never any verbal interaction with Fox but that he would just regularly drop items off at the front door.

The alleged actions by Fox prompted Gregory to temporarily close his Hollidaysburg office to walk-in visitors. The office reopened on Monday, March 1.

Fox was charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, recklessly endangering another person, institutional vandalism, possession of instruments of crime and summary charges of harassment and criminal mischief.
