Stern Pushes Blizzard Ban

State Rep. Jerry Stern sponsored a bill that was approved unanimously by the House Judiciary Committee and is making its way to the House floor for final consideration. The bill would add three synthetic drugs to the controlled substances list and make it illegal for anyone to sell, possess or consume any of those substances in Pennsylvania. The bill follows suit with efforts in other states across the country that are experiencing similar problems. The drugs included in the bill are K2 or Spice, a marijuana substitute; salvia, a plant-based hallucinogen; and ‘fake cocaine’ or bath salts which contain 3, 4-methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV).
