Pineapple Upside Down Murder By Jodi Rath

Shy, quiet Jolie Tucker is living out her dream, running a restaurant with her best friend, Ava, in their hometown. The secret to their restaurant success? Jolie's family's secret cast iron skillet recipes, which she keeps safely hidden away in the restaurant kitchen. When she finds her recipes gone one day, she thinks things cannot get any worse. How will she ever break this horrible news to her grandmother?

Things go from bad to worse quickly, when moments later, an employee finds Ellie Siler, Jolie's grandmother Opal's best friend, dead in the dumpster behind the restaurant. As secrets from the past come to light, namely an assertion that those wonderful family recipes actually DO NOT belong to the Tucker family,

Opal is soon the prime suspect in Ellie's murder. Jolie steps out of her comfort zone and sets out to prove her grandmother's innocence but is afraid of what she may uncover along the way that will cause her idyllic little world of Leavensport, Ohio, to come crashing down around her.

Though this is not a new book, the Cast Iron Skillet Mystery Series is new to the Martinsburg Community Library and Blair County Library System. It is a great little cozy mystery (with a yummy recipe included) that has relatable characters and an ending that you will not see coming! The first three books in the series are available now at the library, with more to come!
