Roaring Spring
William E. "Cougar" Feathers, 72, of Roaring Spring, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at UPMC Altoona, following a battle with COVID-19.
He was born March 22, 1948, in Roaring Spring, the son of the late Irvin and Lillian (Kennedy) Feathers. He married Alice (Corle) Feathers on May 3, 1995, in Winchester, Va.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters: Bobbi Jo Cunningham and husband Dave of Roaring Spring and Heidi Roseberry and husband Rich of Odessa, Fla .; three stepchildren; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jeff Feathers and wife Kim of Wake Forest, N.C.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Feathers.
Bill attended New Life Alliance Church, East Freedom.
He was a 1966 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, and served in the United States Army.
He retired from Spring Cove Container in 2011.
Bill was a member of the Murray-Appleman American Legion Post 147 and the Ray-Camp VFW Post 7689, both in Roaring Spring.
Due to COVID-19 limitations, a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be given to New Life Alliance Church, 2879 Everett Road, East Freedom, PA 16637; or Jacob's Way, a prison outreach program through the church, 109 Sumner Street, Cresson, PA 16630.
