Martinsburg
Michael L. Ferry, 61, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 13, 2021, at his home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 19, 1959, in Roaring Spring, son of the late Donald R. and Cora Mae (Steele) Ferry.
Surviving are two sisters: Kathryn J. Hall (Bill) and Nancy K. Eshelman, both of Martinsburg; two brothers: Byron "Butch" (Dori) Ferry and J. Samuel (Linda) Ferry, both of Martinsburg; special friends: Trent Ritchey, Jodi Beegle, Louann Ferraro and George and Glenda McConnell.
Mike was a 1977 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, and a member of Curryville Church of the Brethren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving at Fort Campbell in Kentucky and also in Germany.
Following his time in the Army, Mike was employed for a short time on their family farm and for two years at the Martinsburg Service Center. He then spent the next 32 years working for the Sheetz corporation, where he worked with a construction crew that built and remodeled many stores in Pennsylvania and surrounding states.
Mike enjoyed going to flea markets, pawn shops and traveling. His favorite destinations were the Pawn Stars store in Las Vegas and the American Pickers shop in LeClaire, Iowa.
At the request of the deceased there will be no services. Private inurnment will be held at Koontz Cemetery, rural New Enterprise.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mike may be given to Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
