The COVID-19 vaccine rollout continued locally on Friday, Feb. 12, when 1,000 people received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the Freedom Township Fire Hall, East Freedom.
Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, in partnership with the Blair County Emergency Management Association, AMED, and the Hollidaysburg Ambulance Company administered the vaccine to individuals in the 1A phase of the rollout. Phase 1A consists of people 65 years of age or older and those ages 16 to 65 with high-risk conditions.
