Robert C. Teeter
Robert Teeter, 70, described by many as a good and loving man, gentle spirit, kind, compassionate, buddy, second father, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at UPMC Altoona, due to complications from COVID-19.
He leaves his wife of 22 years, Beth (Martz) Teeter; his son, Bruce Palmer and wife Shelly, Richland, Mo .; his daughter, Lori Palmer James and husband David, Bettendorf, Iowa; daughter, Lynnse Mack and husband Brandon, Altoona, Pa .; sons John Free and Ehren Teeter, Roaring Spring, Pa .; daughter Erin Parks, Portland, Ore .; grandchildren: Lindsay Robinson; Blaire Sirko and Dakota Williams; Zach and Zoey James; Extacy Marie, Ramellow and Savior Mack; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son Sean Teeter Sarrica.
Born in Roaring Spring, Pa., on April 14, 1950, the son of the late Cecil and Lena (Stevens) Teeter, he later resided in the Sandusky, Ohio, area until returning to Pennsylvania in 1996. He is also survived by sister Cecelia Bowser and husband Fred, and brother Glenn Teeter and treasured family friend Nancy Goff.
After graduating from Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School in 1968, he attended Computer Technology Institute, Pittsburgh, Pa., and later the National School of Meat Cutting, Toledo, Ohio. He reunited with his high school classmate, Beth Martz Free, by chance at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park and they were married on June 12, 1998, in Elizabethtown, Pa.
In addition to his employment and retirement from NPC Inc. in 2016, where he was revered by many for his stellar work ethic, he was honored to serve as manager of the Greene Hills Family Campground and RV Park, an outdoor ministry of the United Methodist Church beginning in 2010 and considered the members of that camp community as extended family.
Bob has lived a humble life of service and caregiving for many as a gracious loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, son and brother, and faithful friend. He enjoyed years of youth ministry as advisor and Sunday School teacher in addition to many other church-related responsibilities, a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Woodbury, Pa., and volunteered at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park and Altoona District Mission Central HUB. He is past president of the Roaring Spring Lions Club.
Bob was an avid photographer and had a passion for animals fulfilled by providing homeless shelter dogs the best life possible. Copper has been his faithful companion and will sorely grieve his master's absence.
Because of the current COVID restrictions, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Greene Hills Family Campground and RV Park, Alexandria, Pa.
