A Way to Say, 'Thank you!'

The Democrats of the Cove collected money to send pizza to healthcare workers at the start of the new year. The group wanted to do something to express their gratitude for the work done by the staff at facilities that experienced hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The group decided that pizza was a way to also support local restaurants in a time when they were being affected. So far, pizza has been sent to the staff at The Village and Homewood in Martinsburg, Conemaugh Nason Memorial Medical Center and UPMC Altoona. It's estimated that around 300 healthcare workers have been fed so far. Due to the donations received, the group has hopes of working with additional facilities to provide lunches to other healthcare staff. The Democrats of the Cove is a Facebook group started in 2020 with approximately 550 members. Shown are Reggie Nail, Laura Helsel, and Renee Miller.
