EDNA DONITA FEATHERS

Donita Feathers, 73, entered into Heaven unexpectedly at her home in Newry, Pa ,. on the afternoon of Saturday, Dec.12, 2020.

Edna Donita (Redinger) Feathers was born on May 24, 1947, in Cumberland, Md.,to Clifford and Edith Redinger.

She was a graduate of Central High School in Martinsburg, Pa., Class of 1965.

Donita married Paul Jerry Feathers on Oct.16, 1965, at Saint Mary’s Church in Hollidaysburg, Pa.

Donita and Paul Feathers are current members of Saint Patrick’s Church in Newry, Pa.

Donita retired in 2000 after 39 years of nursing service to the Allegheny Lutheran Ministries.

She was a life member of the United States Navy League and a staff member of the Altoona Council of the Navy League.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Paul Jerry Feathers; four brothers: Clifford Redinger, married to Judith, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Gary Redinger, married to Janet, Saxton, Pa., John Redinger, married to Earline, Roaring Spring, Pa., and Keith Redinger, married to Mary, Martinsburg, Pa .; sister Deborah, married to James Kyle, Martinsburg, Pa; and many nieces and nephews.

Donita will be deeply missed by her adopted daughter, Jodi Ling, and her special granddaughter, Alexis Wagner, and the entire Wagner family, friends and neighbors Ken and Ruth Keller and Donita’s beloved cats “Mommy,” “Little Girl” and “Susie.”

Along with her parents, Donita was preceded in death by her deeply beloved son, Jeremiah Paul Feathers.

She was known by those who loved her as a kindhearted, generous, loving woman. She loved to dance and enjoyed listening to beautiful music and watching old westerns on TV.

Donita loved with her whole heart and prioritized family and those she loved over everything. She was known for her loyalty, love, dedication and immense strength and devotion. She was loved and adored by all who met her and had a beautiful personality that was infectious. In lieu of flowers, prayers are asked for Donita’s husband and family and all who loved her throughout her life.

A funeral Mass was held Saturday, Dec.19, 2020, at the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Newry, PA.
