Deer Becomes a Problem

A plea for closer cooperation to build a finer community in Morrisons Cove was voiced by officers of the Martinsburg Boosters.

The Central High School Chorus will present a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” Sunday in the high school auditorium.

The doe season started early at the square in Martinsburg last Friday afternoon when five of the creatures, wild from the hunting that has been going on, were jumping into buildings and proving a hazard to pedestrians and motorists in the business district.

Four Blair County men were sentenced to prison terms for the burglary of a safe that was brought to the Martinsburg area to be cracked last February. The safe contained approximately $6,000 in bonds and cash.

The N.B. County Junior Women’s Club discussed its concern for a kindergarten program in the N.B. School District at the Nov. 23 meeting at the School.

The Women’s Society of Christian Service realized $900 from its Christmas bazaar.
