Construction Bids Due

The State Transportation Department was advertising for construction bids on the widening of Route 36 through McKee Gap and the building of the Loysburg bypass of Route 36. Bids for the 2.7 mile McKee Gap project and the 1.1 mile Loysburg project were to be opened Thursday, Dec. 21, at Harrisburg. Overall project costs were expected to be between $7 and $7.5 million for the McKee Gap widening and between $9 and $10 million for Loysburg ($8 million for construction).
