Sgt. Denver Kenneth Ake, who was serving in the South Pacific as an electrical gunner on a B-29 bomber, also known as a Superfortress, arrived at the home of his parents early Wednesday morning.
At an adjourned meeting of the Martinsburg borough council, Ralph S. Bowers, borough police officer, tendered his resignation.
