SARA K. (STAPLETON) MILLER

Sara K. (Stapleton) Miller, 89, of Roaring Spring, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.

She was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Bakers Summit, daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Wyles) Stapleton. She married the Rev. R. Eugene Miller in 1949. He preceded her in death in 1999 after 49 years of marriage.

Surviving are four daughters: Kathryn Frye and husband Terry of Roaring Spring, Melissa Miller and husband Dean Peachey in Ontario, Beckie Zeek and husband Rich of Duncansville and Amy Lowey and husband Thayne of Duncansville; three sons: Alan and wife Kathy of Akron, Ohio, Philip of Altoona and Mark Parker Miller and wife Beth in Delaware; grandchildren: Kelly Frye, Tammy Frye-Carter, Danielle Mickel, Tim Frye, DeAndra Miller, Lindsey Frye, Matthew Miller, Daniel Peachey, Jeremiah Zeek, Brittney Saltsman, Nathan Zeek, Austin Lowey, Erin Parker Miller, Abby Zeek, Seth Lowey, Emma Parker Miller and Mason Lowey; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Burket of Saxton; a brother, Ted Stapleton of Enola; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Creps of Bedford.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Miller; a grandson, Travis Miller; siblings: Charles and William Stapleton; and two infant brothers and a sister.

Sara graduated from Saxton-Liberty High School and was a homemaker.

She was a member of The Village at Morrisons Cove Auxiliary and Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, where she enjoyed being a pastor's wife, teaching Sunday school, a member of Women's Work, crafting and sewing circles, and preparing funeral luncheons.

She enjoyed canning, baking, sewing, knitting, and needle work. Her greatest joy was feeding her gathered family.

All services are private at the convenience of the family.
