A letter from A.M. Snowberger, a former Cove resident, who with others had taken a trip to the South. The letter was written from Fruitland Park, Fla.
Mr. Snowberger, his brother David M., wife and daughter, and Daniel Baird, had made the trip in a camp trailer. His letter tells of the trip from Pennsylvania down to the southland and his impressions of Dixieland.
Farmers living south of Henrietta during the past week noticed that deer had come to their farms and were mingling with the cattle, having been frightened out of the nearby mountains by hunters. William Huntsman and John Quarry for several days had noticed that deer were in the fields with the herds of cattle.
Gerald Ayers, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ayers of Henrietta died on Friday and the funeral was held on Sunday with burial in the Nicodemus cemetery.
G.E. Straesser, mail carrier on route 2 out of Martinsburg, was confined to his home by illness. J. Edgar Lehman was substituting on the route.
