Martinsburg Plans Winterfest Events on Saturday, Dec. 5

Martinsburg’s annual winter festivities will take place this Saturday, Dec 5.

The day will begin with the annual Christmas parade at 11 a.m. It will start at Martinsburg Elementary School on East Spring Street. The parade route will turn right onto South Mulberry Street, left onto State Street, right onto Maple Street, right onto Woodlawn Avenue, right onto South Walnut Street and end at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park.

At 6 p.m. in the gazebo at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park, the Christmas tree will be lit. There are no COVID-19 precautions in place; however, the Herald advises those who attend the parade and tree-lighting ceremony to wear a mask and keep 6 feet of distance between you and others.

Morrisons Cove Memorial Park’s normal activities are still in operation, including bowling and roller skating. For these activities, the park is following the Pennsylvania State Department’s precautions to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
