The office of state Rep. Jim Gregory (R-Blair) has announced that on Nov. 19, the representative received results of a COVID-19 test indicating he tested positive for the virus.
"My symptoms started in a minor way that initially made me believe I had a head cold. When I developed a fever, I eliminated contact with others and sought out a COVID-19 test," Gregory said in a prepared statement sent to the news media.
The representative was last in the Capitol on Tuesday, Nov. 10, and Hollidaysburg office Monday, Nov 9. He wore a mask both days. He has been providing continual updates to House human resources personnel on his condition.
"I'm thankful for the kind words from staff members and my fellow legislators. I hope to return to full health soon. In the meantime, I am participating in House business by phone and video conference," Gregory said in the statement.
Gregory's district offices in Hollidaysburg and Bellwood are closed to walk-in visitors. Reopening was planned for Monday, Nov. 23.
In the meantime, constituents can call (814) 695-2398 or submit an email via Gregory's website at http://www.RepGregory.com.
