Woodbury Borough Council met Nov. 2, at the Woodbury Area Community Center.
The council tentatively adopted the 2021 budget, which would include a real estate property tax increase from 1 mill to 1.5 mills.
For the average homeowner, this would cost approximately $20 more a month and provide about $6,000 a year to the borough. A raise has not been initiated for about 10 years.
The budget is available for review at the Woodbury Post Office. The council will adopt the 2021 budget at a later meeting.
The council discussed two new ordinances that will take place in the next few months. After approval and advertisement there will be a new sidewalk ordinance and an outside wood furnace ordinance. Details will be given after final approval.
The mayor’s position remains open.
The Bedford County Association of Municipalities report was discussed. Members will decide who will attend the next meeting in January at the Bedford American Legion. Meeting dates for the year 2021 will be determined at that time. The council will assure a representative will be at the meetings.
A Majority Inspector is still needed for the borough. Someone covered this position for the Nov. 3 election.
Lower Alley was discussed regarding runoff. This alley will be reviewed for possible paving next year. The council found at the present time the runoff is causing minimal problems.
Council will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the Woodbury Area Community Center.
