The Bedford County Technical Center's Health Assisting program raised $502.77 for Breast Cancer Awareness during October, which was Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The students in Mrs. Styer's class reached their goal of $500 in just two weeks. The Bedford County Technical Center's culinary arts class baked and donated pink ribbon cookies for the health assisting students to sell. The money was donated to the Joyce Murtha Breast Cancer Center in Windber. Many of the health assisting students presented the check to Erin Goins, a representative of the Joyce Murtha Breast Cancer Center.
BCTC's Vickie Styer (far left) hands the check to Joyce Murtha Breast Cancer representative Erin Goins. The BCTC health assisting students who also helped present the check are (starting from the third from the left): Kate McNamara, Stasia Hauze, Sabrina Adams, Lily Lemin, Brianna Graham, Michaela Frye, Angie Mullaney, August Hill, Kayla Hinish, Makeisha Lewis, Willow Harman, Taylor Barkman and Diamond Baughman.
