Harry F. Baker, well known Martinsburg business man who has been a member of the Hollidaysburg War Price and Rationing board ever since it was instituted, has resigned. His service covered a period of three years and ten months.
Miss Dorothy Mae Brown, aged 29, a registered nurse and church worker of Curryville, has started on her long journey to India where she is to serve as a missionary for the Church of the Brethren for a period of seven years.
The steamship, the Santa Paula, left the piers at New York City at noon Wednesday. The father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel P. Brown of Curryville this forenoon received a letter from the daughter. She stated in her letter that nearly 200 passengers had boarded.
Cpl. Charley Klotx has returned home after spending 34 months in the Marine Corp in the South Pacific.
The person having the electric waxer belonging to the Kenton R. Miller furniture store in Martinsburg is urged to return it at once to the store.
