The Claysburg-Kimmel School District learned Friday morning, Oct. 23, that an adult associated with its elementary school tested positive for COVID-19.
Upon learning this information, school officials “acted swiftly and according to the district’s approved Health and Safety Plan,” Darren J. McLaurin, district superintendent, said. The adult was last in the building Monday Oct. 19.
McLaurin said the school district immediately contacted the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) and will continue to follow its guidance.
