Homewood, formerly of New Enterprise
Margaret A. Amick, 88, of Homewood, formerly of New Enterprise, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 12, 2020, at Homewood at Martinsburg.
She was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Loysburg, daughter of the late Earl and Marie (Lindsay) Brown. On June 15, 1952, in Martinsburg, she was united in marriage to Ray Amick. He preceded her in death July 11, 2008.
Surviving are son Ray A. Amick of Duncansville; son Joel K. Amick (Jacqueline) of New Enterprise; special niece Nancy Ott of New Enterprise; grandchildren Brian L. Amick (fiancé, Apryle), Justin D. Amick (Stacey), Brandon J. Amick, Heath J. Amick, Jenna L. Bottenfield (David) and Joslyn R. Tirpak (Nick); as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray; an infant son; sisters Helen Louise Eshelman and Betty Jane Hockenberry; and a brother, "Sonny" Brown.
Peggy was a graduate of Replogle High School and worked alongside her husband on the family dairy farm, retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and spending summers with her niece, Nancy.
Peggy was an avid Homewood bingo player and enjoyed collecting bells.
A small viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, at the Weaver Funeral Home LLC, Woodbury (weaversfh.com). At 11 a.m. a funeral will take place with Pastor Jerry McCuller officiating.
Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Margaret's name can be made to the Homewood at Martinsburg Benevolent Fund.
