CKHS Struggles In Loss at Juniata Valley

The Claysburg-Kimmel football team suffered its third straight setback Friday, Oct. 2, as host Juniata Valley beat the Bulldogs, 42-0.

Juniata Valley ran its record to 3-1, while C-K dropped to 1-3.

Hunter Johnson threw three touchdown passes - 30 and 19 yards to Jake Johnson and 41 yards to Gabe Brower. Hunter Johnson also scored on an 18-yard run, while Jake Johnson picked off a Caleb Oakes’ pass and returned it 26 yards for a pick-six.

“Friday’s game was very frustrating,” Claysburg-Kimmel coach Matt Bilchak said. “We struggled to consistently keep drives alive. As we were preparing, we were hoping to control the clock and establish our run game.

“Juniata Valley played physical and if we are going to have success this season, we must get better at sustaining blocks downfield and making tackles.”

Oakes completed 4-of-10 passes for 39 yards and one interception. Joseph Noah had one catch for 24 yards. Pressten Imler ran for 29 yards on 11 carries.

Juniata Valley led 19-0 after one quarter and 35-0 at the break en route to the victory.

Claysburg-Kimmel will welcome Williamsburg (1-3) to Bulldog Stadium on Friday, Oct. 9. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
