'Night Out Against Crime' to be Held Oct. 6 in Duncansville

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, Blair County will participate in the 37th annual Night Out Against Crime, hosted for Blair County in Duncansville.

This event is for the entire Blair County Community.

The event will be held at the Duncansville Antique Depot from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Events

A parade will begin at 5 p.m. and proceed from NAPA Auto Parts at 500 3rd Ave. to the Depot parking lot.

Fireworks will be offered at 8 p.m. Fireworks are provided by Brumbaugh Fireworks Display, Inc.

There will also be a car show.

The purpose of this event is to:

• Heighten Crime- and drug-prevention awareness

• Generate support for and participate in local anti-crime efforts

• Increase awareness and prevention of the drug and alcohol epidemic

• Strengthen community spirit and law enforcement partnerships

• Send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

There will be a free prize give-away during the event. There is no charge to the community for the event.

The area law enforcement agencies, community support organizations, and area businesses are encouraged to participate by setting up a display, distribute information and donate to the prize give-away.

Car show

There will also be a car show, offering best-of-class awards in three categories: car, truck, and motorcycle.

Anyone is invited to participate in the car show. Registration (at no charge) will begin at 4:15 p.m. in front of the Antique Depot.
