Officials from Martinsburg, Williamsburg, Woodbury Township and Huston Township reviewed plans for the rebuilding of the Piney Creek Road at a conference with state highway engineers.

The Spring Cove School Board has authorized KATV to film and broadcast all remaining varsity football games this season.

Radio Station WKMC was paid a special tribute for outstanding public service in the fight against cancer in a service at the American Cancer Society.

Municipalities in the Cove region are among those receiving checks from the state to be distributed to volunteer firemen’s relief and pension programs.

Spec. 5 Ronald E. Price, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Price, Roaring Spring, received the Army Commendation Medal while service with the 34th Engineer Battalion near Phu Loi, Vietnam.

Spec. Price earned the award for meritorious service as an engineer equipment repairman in the battalion’s Company A.

He entered the Army in April of 1968 and was last stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Va.
