The Hon. John A. Lemon, who for many years represented the Blair-Cambria district in the State Senate, died at his residence in Hollidaysburg. He was about 70 years old and was known by his constituents as “Uncle John.” He was a staunch Republican from boyhood. Born at Summit, Cambria County, he was the son of Samuel Lemon, one of the pioneer coal men of the state.
The Pittsburgh Quarry Co. was building a new crusher near Williamsburg.
A slightly damaging frost was reported by the Curryville correspondent.
J.E. Hagey and family returned to their home in Johnstown after spending 10 days at the Mineral Spring Hotel in Henrietta.
David Kauffman of Curryville attended the national encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic at Louisville, Ky.
A black cow strayed from the residence of John Detwiler of Curryville, and he was offering a reward for her return.
D.R. Earlenbaugh, Martinsburg merchant, and Miss Anna A. Nicodemus were married at the bride’s home.
