After having been in operation for nearly four weeks, the Blue Mountain cannery at Martinsburg was to close this Thursday evening or night.
It was said that all the available corn would be worked up by the closing time later in the day.
Lieut. H. Marguerite Tussey of the Army Nurse corps has arrived in the States from the European war theatre, and is expected home later in the week.
The thunder storm which passed over the central section of the Cove Thursday evening last was the summer’s worst storm and was the cause of considerable damage.
