Jetstream to Leave Airport

The Blair Count Airport Authority learned Monday night that Jetstream Airlines, the airport’s commuter carrier, would be leaving the airport. Martha Disney, airport manager, announced that Chatauqua Airlines, a private corporation originally based in Jamestown, N.Y., would be taking over the commuter operation. The schedule was tentatively scheduled to take place in January 1996, Mrs. Disney said.

Water rates in Roaring Spring would be going up 132 percent, according to a vote of the Roaring Spring Municipal Authority on Tuesday night. The minimum water rate, for consumers who used less than 6,000 gallons per quarter, would go from $15 per quarter to $34.75 per quarter. The rate for each thousand gallons over the 6,000 minimum would increase from $2.50 to $5.80 per quarter.

The remains of a missing plane were discovered last week about 10 miles north of Altoona in dense woods on Brush Mountain. The two deceased were transporting bank checks from Carlisle to Detroit,
