Six Sons Return Home

Herald of Aug. 23, 1945

No couple in the Cove had more cause for rejoicing when the end of war came than Mr. and Mrs. Elmer C. Baker of Loysburg. They had six good reasons to be glad. These reasons are: Pvt. Elvin R. Baker, 32; Staff Sgt. Marion Irvin B. Baker, 28; Pvt. Crawford H. Baker, 27; Cpl. James W. Baker, 24; Seaman 1/c Herman K. Baker, 21; and Donald P. Baker, 19.

These six sons of the Loysburg couple are in the service. Some of them have been helping to fight their country’s enemies for long periods. Four are in the Army and two in the Navy.
