The rattle of threshing machines could be heard resounding from the sides of barns throughout the Cove.
The huckleberry crop was confined to the points on the highlands above the front line of last spring. On the tops of the mountains the finest huckleberries were being found.
It was announced the public schools of Roaring Spring would open Aug. 26.
The congregation of the Roaring Spring Church of God decided to build a parsonage on the lot of the church, and excavation began for the foundation. It was to be brick to harmonize with the church.
