RUTH A. HILLEGASS

Ruth A. Hillegass, 73, of Altoona, passed away on Saturday evening, July 18, 2020, at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born on Dec. 3, 1946, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late George and Marion (Talbert) Dubbs.

She is survived by two daughters: Joni Ebersole (Scott), with whom she resided, and Dawn Griffith (Keith) of Martinsburg; four grandchildren: Veronica Griffith, Alexandrea Griffith, Sierra Griffith and Scott Ebersole Jr.; a brother, John Dubbs (Anne) of Seattle, Wash; and three sisters: Martha Straubel (Jim) of Lancaster, Nancy Magill of Mentor, Ohio, and Linda Sites (Randy) of Petersburg, WVa.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: William, George and Dave Dubbs; and a sister, Bernice Dively.

Ruth was a 1964 graduate of Central High School in Martinsburg and attended the Altoona Bible Institute.

She retired as a stitcher from Cove Shoe Co., Martinsburg, in 2000 after 37 years of service.

She formerly attended Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church.

Ruth enjoyed connecting with her family through Facebook, computer games and spending time with her grandchildren.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services at this time. The family will schedule a Celebration of Life for Ruth at a later date.
