Penn State Extension To Offer Pesticide Applicator Correspondence Course

Penn State Extension is offering a correspondence course for certified private and commercial agronomic pesticide applicators. This offering is meant to provide an educational delivery method that some may prefer or require because of computer or internet access concerns.

“We understand that not everyone has access – or feels comfortable with – online education,” said Nicole Santangelo, an educator with the extension agronomy program team. “That is why we continue to deliver our education in various methods to meet the needs of all learners.”

Upon registration, core and category workbooks with a quiz will be sent to participants by mail. After the participants successfully complete the quiz, two core and two category (PC, 01, 18) credits will be added to their Pennsylvania pesticide applicator license.

Topics covered in the course will help applicators to keep accurate records of pesticide applications and learn how to identify and manage forage diseases.

A course covering horticultural crops is in development and should be available soon.

There is a cost for the course. To register, call (877) 345-0691. For more information, contact Zach Larson in the Martinsburg office at (814) 414-0582.
