Altoona Rotary Club Aids Area Organizations with 'Grapes for Good' Funding

The Rotary Club of Altoona sent more than $27,000 in checks to area organizations to fund their operations, events, and projects.

Blair County organizations were encouraged earlier this year to apply for grants based on the proceeds raised from the “Grapes for Good” fundraiser. In June, disbursements were made to 16 different groups to help in their efforts in our community.

The organizations receiving funding this year are A Quaint Corner – Children’s Museum & Discovery Center, Gloria Gates Memorial Foundation, The Door, Central PA Humane Society, Blair Regional YMCA, The Nehemiah Project, Penn Mont Academy, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Blair County, United Way of Blair County, Blair County Arts Foundation, Young Life, Lung Disease Foundation, Altoona Area School District Foundation, Blair County Chamber Foundation (for Leadership Blair County Youth), Service Paws of Central PA and John’s Way Medical Equipment.

In total, the Rotary Club of Altoona provided $27,105.61 to assist them to make a difference.
