Central High School graduated 142 students on June 3 from Spring Cove School District. Forty-five seniors were presented with awards and scholarships.
Recipients of awards and scholarships were:
Mason Baker of Martinsburg – son of Brent and Betsy Baker. He plans to attend Lebanon Valley College to pursue a degree in analytical finance and actuarial science. He was awarded the Sandy Run Landfill Scholarship, Teeter Group Foundation Scholarship and South Hills Excellence Scholarship.
Morgan Balliet of Roaring Spring – daughter of Charles and Jennifer Balliet. She plans to attend Conemaugh School of Nursing and pursue a career as a nurse practitioner. She was awarded the Donna Sheehan Nursing Scholarship and Trooper Landon E. Weaver Memorial Scholarship.
Corissa Beltz of Roaring Spring – daughter of John and Stacy Beltz. She plans to pursue a career in interior decorating and finishing. She was awarded the GACTC Interior Decorating & Finishing Senior of the Year Award.
Kaylee Boyles of East Freedom – daughter of Rachel and Bryon Holmes She plans to attend The Salon Professional Academy for cosmetology. She was awarded the Mrs. S Memorial Scholarship through The Salon Professional Academy.
Austin Bridenbaugh of Martinsburg – son of Grant and Alicia Bridenbaugh. He plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania to pursue a degree in Physics, then attend Medical School. He was awarded the Class of 2020 Salutatorian Award, Wilt Gillette Family Science Award, Norfolk Southern Scholarship, CHS Science Departmental Scholarship and the Brighter Future Scholarship.
Allison Brooks of Martinsburg – daughter of Christopher and Heather Brooks. She plans to attend Messiah University to major in sustainability studies. She was awarded the Leah Hoover Memorial Foundation Scholarship.
Erin Brumbaugh of Martinsburg – daughter of Gerald and Lori Brumbaugh. She plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania to major in speech-language pathology. She was awarded the Bice Memorial Journalism Award, NPC Blanket Award and District 6 Sportsmanship Award.
Reagan Bush of Roaring Spring – daughter of Wayne and Nancy Bush. She plans to attend Wilson College for veterinary medical technology and animal studies. She hopes to one day work in a wildlife rehabilitation center or similar facility. She was awarded the CHS English Departmental Award.
Jenna Carder of Roaring Spring – daughter of Fred and Kerri Carder. She plans to attend Pennsylvania Highlands Community College to obtain an associate degree as a health information specialist. She was awarded the CHS Physical Education Departmental Award, Lisa Audet Meyers Memorial Scholarship and McEldowney Scholarship.
Alexandra Carrol of Williamsburg – daughter of John and Zina Carrol. She plans to attend Juniata College to go onto medical school and become a physician. She was awarded the Nason Foundation Community Service Award.
Lauren Crilly of Duncansville – daughter of Aaron and Rebecca Crilly. She plans to attend University of Pittsburgh. She was awarded the Morrisons Cove Rotary Club Scholarship.
Clint Curfman of Roaring Spring – son of Craig and Dianne Curfman. He plans to attend Shenandoah University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in music performance. He was awarded the Blair County Civic Music Foundation Scholarship, Harry E. Clarke, Jr. Scholarship, Jack Shaffer Memorial Award, Todd Gardner Sparks Performing Arts Memorial Scholarship, Dragon Spirit Award Class of 1977, Robert L. Hite Memorial Scholarship and the US JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship.
Tyson Daughenbaugh of Martinsburg – son of David and Tammy Daughenbaugh. He plans to attend Slippery Rock University for physical therapy. He was awarded the Leah Hoover Memorial Foundation Scholarship and Heuston Scholarship Award.
Kaitlyn Dick of Martinsburg – daughter of Josh and Brandy Dick. She plans to attend The Salon Professional Academy for Cosmetology and open her own business. She was awarded the Mrs. S Memorial Scholarship through The Salon Professional Academy.
Isaiah Dively of Martinsburg – son of Gordon and Susan Dively. He plans to pursue a career as a welder. He was awarded the BASICS Attendance Counts Award and American Welding Society Award.
Jacob Ebersole of Martinsburg – son of Jeremy and Jess Ebersole. He plans to attend University of Valley Forge to major in worship ministry. He was awarded the Alex Barkman Memorial Scholarship.
Madison Eicher of Roaring Spring – daughter of Andrew and Lori Eicher. She plans to attend Mount Aloysius College to become a registered nurse. She was awarded the Robert L. Hite Memorial Scholarship.
Cameryn Feathers of Martinsburg – daughter of Amber Weyandt and Darian Feathers. She plans to attend Kutztown University. She was awarded the Susan Lang Sacksteder Scholarship.
Jason Ferry of Martinsburg – son of Robert and Barbara Ferry. He plans to expand his lawn care business. He was awarded the Steve King Memorial Scholarship and Jerry Stern Careers in Agriculture Award.
Benjamin Garber of Duncansville – son of Charles and Anna Garber. He plans to attend Pittsburg Technical College to be a graphic designer. He was awarded the CHS Art Departmental Award.
Sarah Griffith of Roaring Spring – daughter of Barry and Julia Griffith. she plans to attend Allegany College of Maryland for dental hygiene. She was awarded the Lisa Audet Meyers Memorial Scholarship.
Destany Hammel of Duncansville – daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Hammel. She plans to attend Cosmetology School. She was awarded the Challenge Program Outstanding Attendance Award.
Lainie Heuston of Roaring Spring – daughter of Brad and Sue Heuston. She plans to attend University of Pittsburgh for neuroscience and pursue a career in the medical field. She was awarded the CHS Class of 2020 Valedictorian Award, Center for Adoption Education of Central Pennsylvania (CAECP) Foundation Scholarship, Bill and Janie Groff Memorial Scholarship, Wilt Gillette Family Science Award and CHS Mathematics Departmental Award.
Brant Kensinger of Martinsburg – son of Shawn and Sharon Kensinger. He plans to Attend Penn State Altoona to become an electro-mechanical engineer. He was awarded Michael D. Claycomb Scholarship, Zachary S. Hoover Memorial Scholarship, Penn State Provost's Award and Curry Fluid Power Scholarship.
Lindsey Kensinger of Williamsburg – daughter of Denny and Jody Kensinger. She plans to attend Penn State Altoona for elementary and early childhood education. She was awarded the David & Janet Hileman Scholarship – Keystone Degree, Heuston Scholarship Award, Penn State Provost’s Award, SCEA Educational Scholarship, CHS Vocational Agriculture Departmental Award.
Braden Kitt of Roaring Spring – son of Willie and Jessica Kitt. He plans to attend Lock Haven University with an education major and play Basketball for LHU. He was awarded the Nelson D. Metzger Memorial Scholarship, Richard K. Bouslough Scholarship, SCEA Educational Scholarship, Maxwell Transit Blanket Award, District 6 Sportsmanship Award and CHS Physical Education Departmental Award.
Emma Lingenfelter of Martinsburg – daughter of Micah and Sarah Lingenfelter. She plans to attend Grace College, major in the mathematical field, and run cross-country and track. She was awarded the Harry E. Clarke Jr. Scholarship, Dragon Pride Foundation Scholarship and Jonathan Trujillo Annual Commemorative Rotary Scholarship.
Hannah Lingenfelter of Roaring Spring – daughter of Pastor Mark and Angela Lingenfelter. She plans to attend Lancaster Bible College and earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts with majors in musical theater and Biblical Studies. After college, she plans to perform for prestigious theater companies like Sight and Sound. She was awarded the Challenge Program Academic Excellence Award.
Victoria Longenecker of Williamsburg – daughter of Douglas and Yvette Longenecker. She plans to attend The Pennsylvania State University to major in biological engineering. She was awarded the Joe & Gina Itle Ag Science Scholarship, David & Janet Hileman Scholarship – Keystone Degree, Aaron N. Stuckey Memorial Scholarship, Lisa Audet Meyers Memorial Scholarship, Steven R. McGraw Scholarship, Smith-Channel Seeds Scholarship, Vocational Agriculture Departmental Award, National FFA Association Scholarship, Brighter Future Scholarship, Jerry Stern Careers in Agriculture Award and the FFA Blue and Gold Scholarship.
Mariah Marlett of Roaring Spring – daughter of James Marlett and Christine Heltzel. She plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania, become a pastry chef and own a bakery. She was awarded J. Keith Paden Scholarship, Richard L. McEldowney Academic Scholarship, Piotr Marciniak Memorial Scholarship and GACTC Culinary Arts Senior of the Year Award.
Kaylee McClain of Martinsburg – daughter of Shawn and Jody McClain. Plans to attend Mount Aloysius for nursing. She was awarded the David & Janet Hileman Scholarship and Lisa Audet Meyers Memorial Scholarship.
Abram Mellott of Martinsburg – son of Barry and Dawn Mellott. He plans to attend Pittsburgh Technical College to obtain an associate degree in welding technology. He was awarded the PTC FFA Scholarship, PTC Academic Achievement Scholarship, PTC Early Application Grant and the Hetrick Family Scholarship.
Cheyenne Merritts of Williamsburg – daughter of Thomas and Dana Merritts. She was awarded the Challenge Program Academic Improvement Award.
Kierra Mountain of Roaring Spring – daughter of Shawn and Lisa Mountain. She plans to attend Mount Aloysius College to pursue a bachelor’s degree in ultrasonography. She was awarded the Trooper Landon Weaver Memorial Scholarship.
Jenna Mock of Martinsburg – daughter of Rob and Danielle Mock. She plans to attend Juniata College in the exploratory program and play basketball for the Juniata Eagles. She was awarded the Michael X. DeStefano Scholarship and Ed Miles Dragon Spirit Award.
Kenzie Mock of Martinsburg – daughter of Wes and Kim Mock. She plans to attend Mount Aloysius to become a registered nurse in hopes of one day becoming a pediatric nurse. She was awarded the Lisa Audet Meyers Memorial Scholarship.
Jaida Oakes of Martinsburg – daughter of Duane and Amy Oakes. She plans to attend University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown to earn a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and start a career as a pharmacist. She was awarded the Dragon Spirit Award.
Anna Roth of Martinsburg – daughter of Arlin and Geri Roth. She plans on focusing on graphic design and starting her own business while working locally. She was awarded the Stay Strong Award.
Desirẽ Shaw of Roaring Spring – daughter of Roy and Christine Miller. She plans to attend Penn Highlands to pursue a degree in accounting. She was awarded the NPC Business & Technology Scholarship and Statewide Tax Recovery Scholarship.
Tamara Smith of Martinsburg – daughter of Rhonda Miller and Roger Stock. She plans to attend Shippensburg University. She was awarded the Zack Hinish Special Education Scholarship.
Sophie Snyder of Roaring Spring – daughter of Doris Snyder. She plans to attend Allegany College of Maryland to major in multimedia/digital art design. She was awarded the Michael D. Claycomb Scholarship and Allegany College of Maryland Presidential Scholarship.
Aleah Trueman of Martinsburg – daughter of Robin Miller and Edward Trueman. She plans to attend Saint Francis University to pursue a career in psychology and criminology. She was awarded the CHS Social Studies Departmental Award.
Victoria Waite of Roaring Spring – daughter of Philip and Julie Waite. She plans to attend Penn State to earn a secondary education social studies teaching degree. She was awarded the Wendell Gahagan Community Service Scholarship, CHS American Red Cross Scholarship, CHS Music Departmental Award and the Challenge Program Community Service Award.
Tyson Warner of Roaring Spring – son of Kevin and Aimee Warner. He plans to attend Penn State at University Park with a degree or doctorate in aerospace engineering. He was awarded the Challenge Program STEM Award.
Larett Weaver of East Freedom – son of Eric and Chris Weaver. He plans to attend Conemaugh School of Nursing for his BSN then to become a doctor of nurse anesthesia practice (DNAP). He was awarded the Trooper Landon E. Weaver Memorial Scholarship, Trooper Landon Weaver Memorial Scholarship and CHS Foreign Language Departmental Award.
Lexa Weyant of East Freedom – daughter of Theresa Weyant and Bud Snyder. She plans to attend Saint Francis University to become an accountant. She was awarded The Oakes Family Scholarship, The Hancock Group Employee & Associates Foundation Scholarship, Martinsburg Business Professional Women Award and CHS Business Departmental Award.
