After a service of 20 months overseas in the 28th Infantry Division, Corp. Samuel Kenneth Gates arrived at his home in Martinsburg for a 30-day furlough and is in the best of health after months of strenuous service.
Chief Petty Officer Rhesa F. Boor, of the naval service, was killed in action in the Asiatic area in the Pacific. He was 36 years old on May 4.
Bearing scars of three wounds received on April 4 last while fighting with the Ninth Army in the drive into Germany, Pfc. James L. Wright, 24 of Woodbury, arrived home last Thursday for a 30-day furlough.
