Programming for the Future Virtual Author Meet & Greet

On June 16, the Roaring Spring Community Library had the opportunity to host Breaking Rules Publishing’s hottest new author, Trisha McKee. We got to sit down with Trisha via Zoom and hosted guests from as far away as California to right here in Roaring Spring. Attendees were treated to a reading of her latest work and also got to ask questions about the book, future works, and Trisha’s writing process. In the past, we have hosted several author meet-and-greet programs, but this was the first time we had done one on a virtual platform. It not only was a big success, but it opened up a new audience by allowing those out of the local area to attend.

Trisha’s newest book, “Beyond the Surface,” was published in May 2020 by Breaking Rules Publishing House. It tells the story of a middle-aged woman named Ella who is looking to rediscover the joy in her life. It is filled with relatable, unforgettable characters and is the perfect blend of romance and suspense. “Beyond the Surface” is available for check-out at the Roaring Spring Community Library or can be purchased on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats. Trisha has also had works published in: Tablet Magazine, The Oddville Press, Crab Fat Magazine, Kzine, Commuterlit, J.J. Outre Review, ParABnormal Magazine, 4Star Stories, Black Hare Press, Thirteen Press, and more. She won Story of the Month from 50-Word Stories. Her short story “Where We Meet” has been nominated for Best of the Net Anthology 2019.

If you are a local author and would like to set up a virtual author meet and greet, please contact the library by phone at 224-2994, by email [email protected], or by sending us a message on Social Media. It is a wonderful opportunity to not only get your work out there but also to reach a wide audience of readers.

This was one of the first of many events that we have planned with local award winning author and poetess Trisha McKee. We hope that everyone will join us.
