Soldier Home on Furlough

Corporal Jesse C. Detwiler, 22, a soldier of Huston township who on May 3, was released as a prisoner of the Germans, is enjoying his 69-day furlough at home, but he is not doing very much walking around.

From Jan. 19, last, when he and a thousand or more war prisoners were taken out of camp when the Russian armies got too close, to the time of his release, he was marched around over Germany for a distance of about 700 miles, and Jesse had about all the tramping he wants for a while.
