Sam is a youth pastor with a passion for helping kids in need whose past failed business attempt haunts him. Kimberly is a start-up phenom with a mind for business success, but a history of rejection has left her defensive and standoffish. They both want the same thing: for Wildfire Youth Ministry to succeed. So how is it that they find themselves at odds about the future of the ministry? Cautious Sam and fearless Kimberly just can’t see eye to eye.

After Kimberly proposes an expansion to the ministry that Sam just cannot get behind, he returns home to his native Australia, his sister, Jules, and the family farm. Kimberly thinks it is a direct result of her business proposal; in reality, it has everything to do with the life Sam left behind and the guilt he feels for what has happened there.

Kimberly tries to replace Sam, but no one is the right fit. She is tasked with the job of winning him back, at least long enough for him to pick and train his replacement. At the same time, Jules pressures Sam to call the only business person she can think of who may be able to save their farm: Kimberly. And so begins what is viewed as a deal with the devil: If Kimberly helps settle the farm issues, Sam will reconsider the ministry. So Kimberly packs up and heads to Australia.

As she learns about farm life, she also learns more about Sam, and he begins to see her in a different light as well. Enemies slowly become friends, and a stronger attraction starts to develop. But when things go horribly wrong at the farm, will everything they’ve started to build between them come crashing down? Will they trust each other and God, or will it all go horribly wrong?

Beautiful descriptions of the Australian landscape mix in with a charming, often humorous story reminiscent of a Hallmark movie. “A Girl’s Guide to the Outback” is a light-hearted, enjoyable tale of finding your way when you seem lost and appreciating what and who you find along the way.
