Bicycling Becomes the Rage

“Jasper,” the Roaring Spring correspondent, observed that bicycling has become the rage. A number of machines have recently been purchased by citizens, he said, and now almost is riding or trying to ride. Prof. Hanawalt was the local agent for the Columbia, one of the leading makes.

A block office was opened at Williamsburg Junction to govern both passenger and freight traffic on the railroad’s Morrisons Cove and Williamsburg branches. Vance Riley of Williamsburg was to be the telegraph operator in charge.
