Storage Shed Involved; Tires Removed
Firefighters from Martinsburg and Roaring Spring volunteer companies removed tires from a storage shed at Bob & RJ Sottile's Hobby Car Corvettes, Inc., which is near Martinsburg borough.
Firefighters used chainsaws to cut holes in the shed's sides so they could get access to the fire. The fire was reported on Tuesday, May 11, around 5:39 p.m.
The Martinsburg and Roaring Spring volunteer fire departments responded to a fire in a shed at Bob & RJ Sottile's Hobby Car Corvettes, Inc., at 3936 Cove Mountain Road, around 5:39 p.m. Tuesday, May 11.
Firefighters cut holes in the sides of a shed between the two larger buildings. They also removed tires and wheels from the shed.
Martinsburg, Station 80, was dispatched first. The Station 80 officer in charge, then requested a water tender (tanker) from Station 60, the Friendship Fire Co. No. 1 of Roaring Spring. The officer a short time later requested a "full house" response from Station 60, meaning that he was requesting that the station send all available fire apparatus and manpower.
In less than half an hour, a Station 80 officer reported the fire to be under control.
Officials did not have a cause of the fire by the Herald's presstime, nor was a damage estimate available. There were no reports of injuries on Tuesday.
