Paul F. Snare, 85, of Fircrest, Wash., passed away at Tacoma General Hospital, Tacoma, Wash., on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, after a short illness.
Louise M. Snare, 82, of Fircrest, Wash., passed away unexpectedly at Tacoma General Hospital, Tacoma, Wash., on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019.
Mr. and Mrs. Snare were graduates of Roaring Spring High School and would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Dec. 21, 2019.
Paul was born on June 1, 1934 in Shirleysburg, Pa., only child of Paul and Etalena Snare (née Vickers) of East Freedom, Pa. Paul earned both a BS in civil engineering and an MBA degree from Cornell University.
Louise was born on Nov. 27, 1936, in Roaring Spring, Pa., daughter of Elmer and Clara Myers (née Smallwood) of Roaring Spring. She earned a registered nursing degree from Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing.
During Paul's lengthy career in the pulp and paper industry he worked for Proctor and Gamble, Playtex, Scott Paper and Weyerhaeuser, locating to or leading projects in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, Delaware, Alabama, Mississippi, Washington and Saskatchewan, Canada.
Louise worked as a nurse for her brother, Carl B. Myers, MD, in Roaring Spring prior to marrying and starting a family. She was an accomplished homemaker, avid sewer, cook and crafter.
Paul and Louise enjoyed spending time with their family, especially their beloved grandchild, Jordan Louise.
The Snares are survived by their daughters Diana S. Crawford (Jim) of Olympia, Wash., and Julia L. Snare of Fircrest, Wash .; granddaughter Jordan L. Crawford of Olympia, Wash .; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
