Central High School Rotary "Students of the Month" for April and May have been announced.
Hannah Lingenfelter
Hannah Lingenfelter, daughter of Pastor Mark and Angie Lingenfelter, has been named April's "Student of the Month." Her school activities include choir, PMEA festivals, varsity volleyball, Student Council, Foreign Language Club, National Honor Society, Friends of Rachel Club, Spanish National Honor Society, Prom Committee and American History Club.
Her hobbies and interests include singing, musical theater, church activities, worship team, youth praise band, youth group, camp counselor, reading, writing, volleyball, watching movies and musicals, volunteering and mission trips.
Hannah's honors and awards received include president of the CHS choir, secretary of the Spanish National Honor Society, secretary of the Foreign Language Club, high honor roll (every semester) and member of the National Honor Society.
Her favorite quote is from Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight."
Hannah plans to attend Lancaster Bible College and earn a degree in musical theater and biblical studies. She hopes to get married and start a family. She is excited to see where God takes her in life.
Lainie Heuston
Lainie Heuston, daughter of Brad and Susan Heuston, has been named May's "Student of the Month." Her school activities include Student Council, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, World Language Club, mock trial, volleyball and Horseshoe Volleyball Club.
Her hobbies and interests include hanging out with friends, traveling, learning new customs and languages, movies, theater and musicals,
Lainie's honors and awards received include vice president of the National Honor Society, treasurer of the Spanish National Honor Society, Challenge Program award recipient for academic excellence, captain of the volleyball team, finished eighth at mock trial state competition, high honor roll every marking period and qualified in pole vaulting for track and field.
Her favorite quote, by Audrey Hepburn, is "The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – it's all that matters."
Lainie plans to attend Penn State University or George Washington University, study abroad, travel and become a nurse practitioner.
Award Sponsor
The "Rotary Student of the Month" award is sponsored by the Morrisons Cove Rotary Club. Any senior student who has achieved a grade-point average of 93 percent or above for their first three years at CHS is automatically nominated for the award.
A faculty committee of 13 persons then votes for the candidates who have best exemplified the characteristics of service, character and leadership.
