First of all, thank you very much to all of you who have purchased subscriptions to the Herald recently. Several subscribers have added to their Herald subscriptions, helping us keep the newspaper going in these tough times.
As I explained last week, the Herald survives on subscriptions and advertisements purchased by local businesses. Since many local business are closed, they’ve stopped advertising. That means that the Herald’s primary revenue source has dried up.
If we’re going to produce the Herald each week, we still have to pay our staff and we still have to pay for printing and postage....
