"Blindside" is the 12th book in James Patterson's Michael Bennett series. Bennett is a New York police detective. He is a widower with 10 adopted children and a grandfather who, in his later years, has become a priest. Bennett's oldest son is serving time in prison, and the entire family misses him tremendously.

In "Blindside," Bennett is at a murder scene where a young mother and her daughter have been shot at close range. Bennett leaves the crime scene to get some air and is held up at gun point by a young man. This leads to Bennett shooting the assailant and time off from duty while the incident is investigated.

The mayor of New York and Bennett have always had a very tense relationship, so when the Mayor request Bennett's help in finding his missing daughter, Bennett is reluctant to help. This missing daughter is mixed up in a sophisticated, international computer hacking operation.

To encourage Bennett's help in finding his daughter, the Mayor and Bennett form a deal. If Bennett helps find the Mayors daughter, the Mayor will then help to get Bennett's son released from prison.

This is a fast-paced, intense read. It takes you from New York to Estonia, Russia, and back again. Will Bennett rescue the Mayor's daughter and get the reunion with his son he is hoping for?
