Hit and Run

Pennsylvania State Police, Hollidaysburg, reported that at 10:21 p.m. Jan. 31, an unknown driver was headed west on Cross Cove Road approaching the intersection with Cove Lane Road and traveled off the berm and struck a utility pole and two traffic signs. The signs were knocked over and damaged. The utility pole had minor damage to the wood surface. The driver then fled the scene in the vehicle west on Cross Cove Road. The operator failed to report this crash to police. Anyone with information concerning this hit and run crash should contact PSP Hollidaysburg.

Motor Vehicle Accident

Pennsylvania State Police, Hollidaysburg, reported that at 10:12 a.m. Feb. 3, J. Roy, 63 of Martinsburg, was traveling northbound on I-99 near mile marker 17.5 in a 2015 Ford Fusion and as the vehicle was in motion the operator fell asleep and swerved off of the right side of the roadway and then counter-steered across the two lanes and struck a guide end that was on the left-side shoulder. The vehicle was unable to be driven safely. No injury was reported but Roy was transported by AMED to UPMC Altoona. Both she and her passenger were wearing seat belts.

Criminal Mischief

Pennsylvania State Police, Hollidaysburg, reported that at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 3 on Cove Lane Road in Taylor Township, PSP responded to a report of damaged property at the victim’s residence in Roaring Spring. Anyone with information regarding this incident please contact PSP Hollidaysburg.

DUI Arrest

Pennsylvania State Police, Bedford, reported that at 5:07 p.m. Feb. 3, members of PSP Bedford responded to 2499 Schellsburg Rd., Kimmel Township for a two-vehicle crash. Upon arrival on scene, Judith Kelly, 72 of Claysburg, was observed driving a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander to the scene of the crash. After further investigation, Kelly was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence. Investigation is ongoing.

Motor Vehicle Accident

Pennsylvania State Police, Bedford, reported that at 3:02 a.m. Feb. 6 Ronald D. Oneal, 47 of Hopewell was traveling southbound in a 2008 Toyota Prius on Woodbury Pike in front of William J. Price, 46 of Martinsburg, north of Windy Acres Lane. One was delivering newspapers while approaching the residence of 4845 Woodbury Pike. Oneal slowed down while traveling into the northbound lane in front of 4845 Woodbury Pike. Price continued to travel southbound in a 2015 Freightliner on Woodbury Pike. One attempted to make a u-turn and traveled into the direct path of Price in the southbound lane. As a result, the front of Price’s vehicle struck the right side of Oneal’s vehicle causing Oneal to travel right off the roadway while rotating clockwise and coming to a final rest facing northwest. One was transported by AMED to UPMC Altoona to seek further medical attention. Price did not relate any injuries while on scene. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Motor Vehicle Accident

Pennsylvania State Police, Hollidaysburg, reported that at 9:09 a.m. Feb. 7, Robert D. Montgomery, 38 of Altoona was traveling east on SR22/William Penn Highway, Catharine Township. Montgomery lost traction going downhill on a snow covered road and traveled off the right side of the roadway and into a yard striking a utility pole. The 2014 Ford Econoline E450 came to final rest in the yard nest to the pole facing west. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front end. No injuries were reported. The driver and passenger were both wearing seatbelt.

Criminal Mischief

Pennsylvania State Police, Bedford, reported that between Feb. 11 and Feb. 12. at Chestnut Street in South Woodbury Township, unknown actor(s) broke the rear windshield out of the victim’s vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Venture minivan, while it was parked in front of his residence. Anyone with information should contact PSP Bedford.

Criminal Mischief

Pennsylvania State Police, Bedford, reported that at 5:51 p.m. Feb. 11 at 2511 Woodbury Pike, South Woodbury Township, an unknown actor threw an orange marble through the victim’s front window of their residence.
